Information we collect

1. Information you give us

If you use our contact form we receive the name, email address, subject and message you type, plus the page you were on. We use it only to answer you and to correct our content. We keep these messages for up to 24 months and then delete them.

2. Anonymous usage data

When a "Check price" button is clicked we increment an anonymous counter tied to the article and product. It contains no identifiers, no IP address and no profile. We use it purely to see which guides help readers.

3. Technical logs

Our hosting provider automatically processes standard request data (IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp) to serve pages and defend against abuse. These logs are retained briefly by the provider and are not used to profile readers.

We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Cookies

We use only strictly necessary storage (for example your language preference and, for staff, an editorial session token). Details are in our Cookie Notice.

Affiliate links and third parties

When you click an affiliate link you leave this site and the destination — most often Amazon — applies its own privacy policy and sets its own cookies, including the tracking cookie that credits the referral to us. We never receive your name, address, payment details or order contents. We see only aggregate commission reports from the affiliate program.

Service providers that process data on our behalf are limited to our hosting and database provider (page delivery and storing contact-form messages) and, for article production, AI and search providers that receive only public product and topic data — never your personal information.

Legal bases (EEA and UK readers)

Where the GDPR applies, we rely on legitimate interests for serving the site securely and for anonymous audience counts, and on your consent (given by submitting the form) for contact correspondence.

Your rights

Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export the personal information we hold about you, to object to or restrict processing, and to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.

In the past 12 months we collected only the identifiers and message content described above, for the purposes described above. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, including the personal information of consumers under 16. You have the right to know, delete and correct, and the right not to receive discriminatory treatment for exercising those rights. We honour Global Privacy Control signals; as we do not sell or share, no further opt-out is needed.

To exercise any right, send us a request through the contact form using the email address tied to your message. We answer within 45 days and may ask you to confirm details of your original message so we can verify the request.

Security and international transfers

The site is served over HTTPS and contact messages are stored in an access-controlled database that only the site owner can read. Our providers may process data in the United States and the European Union under appropriate safeguards. No system is perfectly secure, so please do not send sensitive information through the form.
